Reviving Connection in the Digital Age: #BringBackPostcards

In a world dominated by instant messages and fleeting digital interactions, we often miss the tangible warmth of handwritten notes. This is why our community has embraced a delightful tradition: #BringBackPostcards.

What is #BringBackPostcards?

#BringBackPostcards is our heartfelt endeavor to revive the lost art of postcard writing. It’s more than just a nostalgic nod to the past; it’s a meaningful way to appreciate and connect with the people around us.

How It Works

Every month, our community gathers ONLINE and OFFLINE (in various cities, check city wise schedule here) to create and share personalized postcards. But these aren’t just any postcards. We transform them into unique pieces of appreciation based sketchnotes for our colleagues and friends. Here’s how we do it:

  1. Gathering Supplies: We collect postcards, colorful markers, and our creative ideas.
  2. Creating Sketchnotes: Each postcard becomes a canvas for sketchnotes that celebrate the recipient. Whether it’s a thank you for a job well done, recognition of a special trait, or just a note to brighten someone’s day, every card is a work of art.
  3. Posting and Sharing: Once the postcards are ready, we mail them out to our friends and colleagues. We also capture the joy of the moment by posting pictures of our creations on social media using the hashtag #BringBackPostcards.

Why Postcards?

In today’s fast-paced world, postcards offer a slow, thoughtful, and tangible form of communication. They carry the sender’s personality and effort in a way that digital messages often can’t match. A handwritten postcard says, “I took the time to think of you,” making it a cherished keepsake.

Join the Movement

Our #BringBackPostcards initiative has grown into a cherished community activity, bringing smiles and fostering connections one postcard at a time. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just someone who enjoys spreading positivity, we invite you to join us. Let’s revive the joy of receiving a handwritten note and make someone’s day a little brighter.

So, grab a postcard, unleash your creativity, and don’t forget to share your masterpieces with the hashtag #BringBackPostcards. Together, we can bring back the simple pleasure of handwritten notes and create lasting memories.

I grew up knowing arts like any other child in mud, dirt, rainbows and stars. Until school taught boundaries and perfect shapes. I remember quite vividly, actually, indulging in color and free play when the chaos of homework, exams or project deadlines unnerved me too much. Ofcourse, the brave are the few who consume life with fun and not give in and give up on their inner child energy.

I encountered the world of #sketchnoting in December 2023. I was creatively stuck, and was on the lookout to get UN-STUCK! Piyuesh’s business sketchnote workshop was just the thing I needed. It’s been more than 7 months since, and my universe keeps growing.

I have applied the nuances and expression of sketchnoting in my hospitality business as brand communication and identity too.
